Silent Dressage Traverse - Overview

Why a traverse-version?

Good question - simple answer: Because it doesn't look good when a pony goes across the lines of a dressage field. With that set of additional rules we can perform a consistent dressage routine that enhances skill and appearance, and shows a grater level of cooperation between pony and trainer/owner.

The pony will be able to demonstrate a professional consistent dressage routine, that take into account the full width and length of the arena, and the outer markings.

--- Rules ---

1.) The pony never is allowed to walk over the white markings that outline the edges of the arena.

2.) The pony has to use the shortest route around the edges of the arena between any two tasks of the pattern.

3.) The pony is allowed to traverse directly between two tasks. as long it is the shortest way and they are on the same intersection between two of the letters (e. g. C and H, or D and G)

4.) The pony isn't allowed to turn 180 degrees on a yellow spot, before starting or after ending a task.

5.) The pony isn't allowed to "walk" along the 10 meter line to the starting point. Pony has to use the nearest letter to reach the starting point and align themselves.

No rule without an exception:

6.) The pony has to enter Figure 8 always from letter A, proceeding smartly to the yellow spot. That's the only exception to rule 4.

7.) The pony has to enter the circle task facing the same direction as the trainer, using the letter nearest to the trainer.
